Apple finally stopped treating Active Noise Cancellation like a premium upsell. AirPods 5 ship ANC on the base model at $129, with a claimed 50 percent jump in noise reduction over AirPods 4 ANC, Adaptive Audio, and up to about 20 hours with the case. The $149 Wireless Charging Case version adds stem volume swipes and a bit more battery. Pre-orders are open now and both versions hit stores on September 18 — same Friday as the new Pro iPhones.
