Both watches run the S11 chip and Apple's rebuilt Health Sensing System, which samples heart rate as often as every five seconds and measures HRV far more frequently than last year. Series 12 still starts at $399. Ultra 4 stays at $799 and stretches battery life to 50 hours. The ceramic Series 12 cases are the ones people are actually lining up to try on.
